Car Insurance will be worthless if you drive drunk!!

Despite many warnings, South Africans are still exposing themselves and others to the risks of drunk driving!

Twenty-one people were arrested for drunk driving in the Western Cape this week during alcohol blitz road blocks, community safety MEC Albert Fritz said on Sunday.

“[This is] significantly down from last week’s 33,” his spokeswoman Melany Kühn said in a statement.

“The highest alcohol reading was 1.29mg, also down from last week’s 1.39mg.”

This was part of an integrated operation between provincial traffic, the SA Police Service and municipal traffic, she said.

Fritz said: “The Easter weekend is upon us and I am appealing to all road users to become road safety activists”.

“With additional school holidays, high traffic volumes are anticipated and if we are to stop the carnage that traditionally goes with Easter, we need the co-operation of all road users, including pedestrians,” he said.
