Two suspects arrested for housebreaking and theft in King Williams Town

King Williams Town – Police on Monday night arrested two suspects aged between 20 – and 25 years old for housebreaking and theft.

Bhisho Detectives worked around the clock in tracing the suspects that broke into a flat in Amatola View, Bhisho on the 31st December 2013. The case was reported on the 03rd January 2014 by the complainant and Police immediately investigated the case. The stolen goods (3 plasma televisions, Sony sound system with two speakers, Telefunken microwave, clothing, shoes) are worth R87, 000.00

A swift response led Police to arrest two suspects at their home at Zone 8, Zwelitsha after they received information from the community. They went to the house and through thorough investigation they recovered the goods in the house and others were already sold at King Williams Town. Police also went to the house where the other goods were bought and recovered 3 Plasma televisions, the buyer was not in the house but at the time overseas after which the brother gave a statement to the Police. Later the owner came and positively identified all the goods.

The Station Commander of Bhisho SAPS Colonel Thembile Adoni thanked and encouraged the community members in working together in fighting crime. They must keep on reporting any criminal activities to the Police, he said.

Suspects are appearing at Zwelitsha Magistrate Court today.
