With the introduction of the MiWay Mobile App, South Africa’s first truly online-enabled short-term insurer has taken another innovative step forward in delivering ultimate convenience to its clients.

Available from the Apple App Store, Google Play, BlackBerry World and the Windows Store, the MiWay Mobile App puts your policy in your pocket with a full range of services, including accident and other assistance, directions to inspection centers, the ability to submit a claim, and even an indicative quote function for those who are still thinking of becoming a MiWay client.

The MiWay Mobile App is simple to use and provides a convenient way to stay in touch while on the go.

The App boasts features which are specifically designed to be used anytime, anywhere – 24/7/365,” says Leon Oosthuizen, MiWay Head of Innovation.

Among the App’s smart features is the ability to record details at an accident scene. Using the features of the smartphone on which it is installed, the App guides the user through the process of taking pictures of the scene and vehicle damage, collecting details of the parties involved and those of any witnesses.

This information can be submitted together with a claim on the spot or later. A first for South Africa!

Clients can also add additional App users, such as their spouse or another regular driver of their vehicle. These users are provided with access to the “Request Assistance” function.

Request Assistance is particularly useful in case of emergencies. Using the smartphone’s location services, the MiWay Mobile App pinpoints the user’s whereabouts, allowing for the rapid dispatch of roadside assistance to where it is needed. In addition to calling for help, the Assistance Contacts feature also notifies a maximum of three contacts that you have requested assistance.
