Community thanked after Muizenberg arrest & seizure of firearms, ammunition rounds and drugs

Muizenberg police in the Western Cape arrested two suspects in connection with the seizure of two firearms, ammunition rounds and drugs worth around R11 000-00.

The operation was executed on Saturday, 07 June 2014 after SAPS members received information from the public concerning the possible storage of firearms and drugs at a residence in Village Heights informal settlement.

The SAPS members arrested a 46 year old suspect and a 50 year old male suspect from Grassy Park on the scene on charges of possession of illegal firearms and ammunition as well as dealing in drugs. The suspects are expected to appear in the Muizenberg Magistrate’s Court today.

The Station Commander of Muizenberg SAPS, Colonel Dorothy Xesha, commended the members for the excellent work, and also thanked the community for providing the very important information.
