The 2014 ‘Management of Technology’ Top 100 Award endorsed by the Department of Science & Technology goes to DigiCore, supplier of Ctrack

Vehicle tracking, insurance telematics and fleet management solutions company DigiCore, with its Ctrack product range, recently won the Management of Technology Award in the Large Enterprise category at the Technology Top 100 Awards.

The gala function is seen as one of the foremost programmes recognising technological innovation and excellence. The Minister of Science & Technology, Naledi Pandor encouraged the private sector, government and research institutions to collaborate in elevating the recognition of locally produced technology to service the country’s markets and address local needs.

The TT100 Business Awards have become renowned for judging companies on their business prowess in the Management of Technology, Innovation, People and Systems.

“The programme is an effective vehicle for achieving growth and innovation advancement in our country. We demonstrated that our ability to keep track of new trends and changes in the vehicle tracking industry has put Ctrack at the forefront of our market”, said Deon du Rand, Ctrack’s CTO.  Ctrack’s partnership with large insurance companies also demonstrated the versatility of the company and their ability to accommodate client demands without losing focus on what the organisation is most recognised for.

Professor Roy Marcus, Chairman of the Da Vinci Institute, explains that an important feature of the adjudication process; was for any organisation that strives to be globally competitive has to be extremely capable in four critical areas of management.  These are management of technology, innovation and people in order to derive sustainability and excellence in innovation advancement.

“It is encouraging to see how, year-on-year, many of these organisations have been able to find innovative ways of sustaining their businesses, and, in many cases, have been able to export their products and services in fiercely competitive global markets,” said the Minister.
