Truck and bakkie collide injuring four, Bethlehem.

Four people were injured this morning following a head-on collision on the R26 outside of Bethlehem in the Free State.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found both vehicles on the side of the road. Both vehicles had sustained damage to the front of their vehicles.

On assessment, paramedics found that two occupants from each vehicle had been injured in the collision. On inspection of the vehicles, a woman was found lying trapped inside the truck.

Rescue officers from ER24 had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the patient from the vehicle.

Once freed, paramedics treated the patients for their injuries. ER24 paramedics transported two patients with moderate injuries while other services transported the remaining two patients.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
