Fire destroys home in Verulam
A family has lost all their possessions after a fire completely destroyed their home in Trenance Park – Verulam this morning.
At approx 08:30 Members of Reaction Unit South Africa responded to the fire on Camel-thorn Place. Upon arrival Officers found several neighbors attempting to extinguish the blaze. The fire was eventually brought under control. The Ethekweni Fire Department responded swiftly to assist. The inside of the home was completely destroyed.
According to the two occupants, the fire started in the bedroom & quickly spread throughout the home. Paramedics treated a 19 year old female for smoke inhalation & a 24 year old male was treated for minor burns to his hands.
The cause of the fire has not been established.
