The Free State MEC for Health, Montseng Tsiu has wished all workers a Happy Workers Day on this occasion of the International Workers Day 2019.
“I am committed to ensuring that the Health Professionals, Allied Health Professionals, Administrative and all other categories of Support Services get a better dispensation that is rewarding and fulfilling. It is my commitment to ensure that each worker (blue or white collar) in the broad health profession feels valued and sees their contribution as indispensable towards the betterment of the conditions of our patients.
We are improving the conditions of service for all our workers within the context of Bargaining Chamber to ensure that we agree on what should be done as we build towards our common future. Let us continue to work together to ensure better conditions for all our workers for a secure and safer health care provision environment for all our patients”.
“The Department of Health has demonstrated that it is a reliable custodian of the interest of the workers. Since I was appointed as the MEC in May 2018, I have adopted an open door policy of interactions with Labour. This has helped to establish Labour peace under difficult circumstances.
As we forge ahead through turbulent times resulting from harsh and unfavorable economic conditions, we must engage with sincerity, mutual respect and trust. The successful implementation of the commitments of insourcing, amongst many issues of interest to workers, is a demonstration that we can be trusted to do more for all the workers at health” concludes Tsiu.
