20 Computers discovered in bakkie and 3 men arrested after robbery at school

K9 Unit has arrested 3 suspects for possession of suspicious stolen property. Police received information about a bakkie that was seen loaded with computers around the taxi rank area.

Police proceeded to the taxi rank and a red bakkie was identified and the suspects attempted to escape, but police swiftly responded and apprehended them. Twenty computers valued at about R100 000.00 inside waste black plastic bags in the bakkie.

They were allegedly stolen at Dannhauser near KwaMdakane area. The suspects aged between 20 and 35 have been detained in Newcastle Police cells for possession of suspected stolen property. Police also arrested a 27-year-old suspect in the early hours of the morning for possession of electric cords that belongs to the same computers and is detained at Dannhauser.

Police are looking for a foreign national man and the two other suspects who are on the run in connection with the robbery at Dannhauser.

It is alleged that the security guards was approached by six men who came from different directions yesterday evening, they were allegedly overpowered, gagged and tied with wires. Suspects further took cell phones and school computers.  All suspects are expected to appear in Dannhouser Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, 11 September 2014.
