Truck driver killed in rollover on M7 Onramp to Umbilo road

A truck driver has been killed after the vehicle he was driving lost control on the M7 onramp to Umbilo Road just after 10am this morning.

Rescue Care Paramedics, Durban Fire Department and SAPS Search and Rescue personal arrived on the scene and found the truck lying on its side. The driver was still in the trucks and paramedics climbed in to assess the driver. Unfortunately the driver had sustained severe injuries and there was nothing more they could do and the driver was declared deceased on the scene.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further. The onramp was closed to traffic whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.
