Robbery suspects arrested in Sunningdale, Durban

Two suspects have been arrested following an attempted robbery from a persons in Village way in Sunningdale, north of Durban earlier today.

Marshall Security received a call from a member of the public stating that they had just been robbed. Armed reaction officers were immediately dispatched and on further investigation it was ascertained that two male suspects, armed with screw drivers, attempted to rob a man before fleeing into near by dense bushes.

A description of the suspects was distributed to all vehicles in the area and a positive identity was made on the N2 highway where the suspects attempted to flee. A foot chase ensued down onto Old North Coast Road, where two other Marshall Security response vehicles joined in the pursuit.

The men were found hiding under some shrubbery next to the road way in an attempt to evade arrest. A screwdriver was found in their possession.

It is believed the suspects are linked to various robberies from persons in the Sunningdale area of late.

The suspects were arrested on scene and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
