Substation replaced after being torched by protesters in Isipingo Hills

Following the brazen destruction of the power substation on Platt Drive in Isipingo Hills this morning, the Ethekwini Municipality personnel worked swiftly to ensure that the box was replaced. Members of Isipingo Hills CPF stood down at the site whilst the repairs were underway.

Electricity has been restored to most roads that were affected whilst the outstanding complaints are being dealt with. Residents are apprehensive that the new substation might be sabotaged by incensed protesters.
