GAC Motor South Africa, Generation Schools, and the Real Madrid Football Foundation South Africa came together this Mandela Day

In the spirit of Nelson Mandela’s legacy, GAC Motor South Africa, Generation Schools, and the Real Madrid Football Foundation South Africa came together this Mandela Day to serve meals to, engage with, and uplift 250 children through a meaningful day of purpose and action in Cape Town.

This collaboration goes beyond commemorating a date, it is a united commitment to shaping a better future for the children of South Africa. Held at the Generation Schools Imhoff campus in Kommetjie, the initiative brought together teams from all three organisations to serve meals, host activities, and offer mentorship that spoke directly to the hearts and hopes of the next generation.

“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.” – Nelson Mandela

Driven by this belief, the event aimed not only to provide nourishment but to spark inspiration and belonging. With fun, sport, and storytelling woven into the day, the children were reminded that they matter and that their dreams are worth investing in.

“This Mandela Day wasn’t just about giving back, it was about standing side by side with the children we believe in,” said Jevron Epstein, CEO of Generation Schools. “Our work with GAC Motor continues to show that true partnership is measured not by promises, but by presence. Today, we showed up with heart.”

As GAC Motor South Africa continues to solidify its presence in the country, its commitment to meaningful impact through partnerships has become central to its brand. By aligning with organisations like Generation Schools and the Real Madrid Football Foundation, GAC Motor is actively redefining what mobility means in South Africa.

“Children are our greatest treasure. They are our future.” – Nelson Mandela

“We are not here for a moment, we are here for a mission,” said Bianca Naude, PR and Communications Manager at Salvador Caetano South Africa. “Mandela Day reminds us that it’s not about what you drive, it’s about what drives you. For GAC, that’s purpose. That’s people. That’s potential.”

The Mandela Day activation forms part of a broader partnership amongst the three organisations to build sustainable youth development programmes through sport, values-based education, and access to opportunity, starting in Gauteng and expanding nationally.

In honouring Nelson Mandela, this partnership reaffirms its belief that small actions can echo loudly in the hearts of children and that by investing in one day, we can help change every tomorrow.
