House robbery in the suburb of Virginia, north of Durban.

Shortly before 14h00 on Tuesday, Marshall Security received an alert for a house robbery which had just occurred at a home in Potomac Avenue in the suburb of Virginia, north of Durban.

Armed Reaction officers were dispatched and upon further investigation it was ascertained that four men, two armed with pistols arrived at the home in an unknown vehicle, posing as water meter readers. The men forced entry onto to the property where they held up the domestic worker at gun point before confining her to a bedroom and ransacking the house.

The men stole televisions and various high end electronic equipment before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

The domestic worker was left severely traumatised in the ordeal and the assistance of the Durban North Umhlanga Crisis Team was sought to counsel her.
