Housebreaking suspect sentenced to 6 years imprisonment
CAS: 21/03/2016 GREENWOOD PARK SAPS
At around 4:30 on the morning of March 3rd, the Marshall security control room received a call from a client reporting that he had seen two suspects jumping over his neighbour’s wall in Ellis Park Drive. The suspects fled up Ellis park drive.
Our vehicles patrolled the area and spotted the suspects on foot in Lovat road. On seeing our vehicles, the suspects fled into the bush, next to the roadway. Our reaction officers pursued and arrested one of the suspects and recovered stolen property including a computer and laptop. The second suspect escaped.
The suspect was handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS for investigation and processing and upon further investigation by detectives, it was discovered that not only were the items in the man’s possession indeed stolen property, but the man was linked to several house breaking cases within the greater Greenwood Park area and was convicted of house breaking and possession of stolen property and sentenced to 6 years direct imprisonment.
