Improvement in new vehicle sales in June 2017
“Despite the new passenger vehicle sales showing a 2.2% decline year on year, the last three months have seen a steady improvement in new car sales. Used car sales on the other hand continue to show growth and resilience”.
General Comments on June 2017 NAAMSA sales:
- Aggregate new vehicle sales increased month on month by 8.6%
- Passenger vehicles increased by 8.9% month on month
- Overall sales increased by 0.9% year on year
- Passenger vehicles declined by 2.2% year on year
- Year on year monthly comparison shows an increase of 1.4% in exports
General Comments on June 2017 Standard Bank passenger vehicles:
- The average contract term remained flat year on year
- The average deal size decreased by 9.4% year on year. The recent trend towards the pre-owned/used vehicles continues and is not likely to change in the short to medium term.
