PUMA launches Southern Kings debut Super Rugby kit

Cape Town, South Africa, 07 February 2013 PUMA today unveiled a striking new kit which the Southern Kings will wear for their Super Rugby debut against the Western Force in Nelson Mandela Bay on 23 February 2013.

Cheeky Watson, President of the Southern Kings, has high hopes for the side and said the new kit would help to ensure they made an immediate impact in the Southern Hemisphere’s blockbuster rugby competition. “The new kit’s bold and fresh design is easy to identify, has great commercial appeal and is easily marketable to both old and young audiences,” said Watson.

Brett Bellinger, PUMA South Africa’s Marketing Director, proudly welcomed long-term partner the Southern Kings to the Super Rugby family of PUMA-partnered teams, which also includes the Vodacom Bulls and the Toyota Cheetahs.

“We wish the Team and Management the best of PUMA luck for the upcoming season and hope their re-introduction to top flight performance rugby will serve to retain the enormous rugby talent that arises from the Eastern Cape,” said Bellinger.

The Southern Kings replica jersey will be available in-store from 15 February 2013 and retails for R599. Stockists include selected Totalsports stores, Brian Bands Sports, Action Sports Retailers, The Footballer & Sports, Top Gear, Sportsmans Warehouse and Bertram Sports.
