Suspects nabbed for house robberies in Naboomspruit

Two suspects from Zimbabwe were arrested at Naboomspruit and found in possession of three firearms, several rounds of ammunition and stolen goods, including lap tops.

The suspects were arrested after members of the Naboomspruit Police Station staged an operation after receiving information from members of the public about suspects being in possession of stolen goods at a village near the town.

When police officials entered the house two suspects were arrested, but one succeeded in fleeing. Police recovered three firearms (revolvers and pistols), several laptops and a variety of other household goods. They are already linked to six incidents of housebreaking in the Naboomspruit area. The search for more suspects are continuing. The three firearms were stolen during incidents of house robbery in the Brits and Hartbeespoortdam areas in the North West.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Naboomspruit Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
