House robbery at a residence in Dunford Avenue, La Lucia

At approximately 12h00 on Friday (2016/08/05), Marshall Security received a panic alert from a residence in Dunford Avenue, La Lucia.

Armed Reaction officers were immediately dispatched and on further investigation it was ascertained that four armed suspects forced entry to the property confining the domestic and garden worker to a room and ransacking the house, stealing an undisclosed amount of jewellery and electronic equipment before making off in a getaway vehicle.

A description of the vehicle was distributed to our members in the area and one of our vehicles spotted it on William Campbell Drive. A high speed chase ensued through the area of Glen Anil and unfortunately the suspects managed to evade arrest.

The scene was later handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.

The domestic and garden worker were left severely traumatised in the ordeal and the assistance of the Durban North Umhlanga Crisis Team was sought to counsel them.
