13 injured after taxi overturned, Johannesburg
This morning thirteen passengers were injured after a taxi overturned on the corner of Empire Road and Hillside Street in Parktown – central Johannesburg.
At 07:02 EMER-G-MED’s M01, A04 and A09 as well as other services responded to the scene, arriving to find the injured passengers seated on the pavement and others walking around.
It’s believed that the taxi skipped a red traffic light while turning into Hillside Street. The taxi was T-boned by a car, causing it to roll.
Fortunately the occupants sustained only minor to moderate injuries. Both drivers and one passenger from the taxi were uninjured in the collision.
The patients were triaged and managed on-scene before being transported to various nearby hospitals for further care.
