Housebreaking suspects arrested in Makeurten Avenue, Durban North

One suspect has been arrested  following a housebreaking in Makeurten Avenue, in Durban North, earlier today.

Armed Reaction officers were called to the scene after a Marshall Security Street Patrol officer noticed two suspicious males entering a property in the road.  Armed Reaction officers conducted a check of the property and one male was found inside a garden cottage on the premises. The suspect was arrested on site.

Further investigation revealed that the man had forced entry into the property by derailing a glass sliding door.  The man admitted to having an accomplice who had managed to flee prior to arrival of armed reaction officers. A search of the surrounding area was conducted, however the second suspect managed to evade arrest.

Various items of copper as well as house breaking tools were found in the suspects possession and he was handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
