Meet the #TIA2019 finalists

The start of The Insurance Apprentice 2019 journey began on 24 October with the profile shoot of the 2019 finalists, sponsored by Hollard.
Andries Wiese, Head of Hollard Insure’s Agri team spoke to The Insurance Apprentice finalists about making a difference and creating #BetterFutures. He gave a short presentation on Hollard Insure’s product spread with a specific focus on Agri insurance.
A learning moment
Wiese shared some interesting facts around agri insurance and then set forth a mini task for the finalists. Split into two groups, they were presented with a deck of cards which represented agri insurance sectors. The groups then had to figure out which extensions fitted with each sector. The groups were then led to the Hollard cows on the verandah, who were on standby for the no-bull activation. Armed with large sticky notes and marker pens, they had to recall as many facts as they had been given as possible, write them down and festoon their cows with the notes.

On the evening we will have a lucky draw between the three people and one person will win R20 000 cash, sponsored by Constantia Insurance.

Winner and runner up prizes
The winner of The Insurance Apprentice wins a trip to Lloyds of London, a R75 000 bursary from Inseta, a cash prize of R20 000 from Masifunde Training Centre, dinner in London with the Hogan Lovells team, an Apple watch sponsored by Genasys Technologies and also R15 000 from Hollard.

The Runner Up wins R10 000, sponsored by Tracker and a bursary from Masifunde Training Centre worth R27 500. Third place will receive a bursary from Masifunde Training Centre worth R27 500.

Each of the eight apprentices will receive a Samsung tablet with a wireless keyboard (sponsored by Masifunde Training Centre) and a R1 000 Uber voucher (sponsored by Discovery Insure), a book ‘Everything you need to know about non-life insurance in South Africa’, written and sponsored by Gareth Stokes and Liz Still, a power bank sponsored by Chubb, and a cool gift from King Price.
