Suspect sought by the Hawks for vehicle finance fraud

The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) Hawks appeals to the public to assist in locating Rezaah Van Reenen (29), who is sought for vehicle finance fraud.

Van Reenen was initially arrested in May 2016 in Grassy Park for his alleged involvement in transactions related to apparent fraudulent vehicle finance valued at R1.2 Million in June 2015. Fraudulent supporting documents including, payslips and bank statements were used in these transactions.

The Cape Town Regional Court provisionally withdrew charges against Van Reenen at his first appearance pending the finalisation of the investigation.   A warrant of arrest was issued for Van Reenen after efforts to inform him that the matter was reinstated on the court roll failed.

Anyone with information that could lead to his arrest should contact the Investigating Officer, Detective Warrant Officer Nico Heerschap on 071 481 5080.
