Two suspects face charge of hijacking

A joint intelligence driven operation carried out by K9 Unit and Flying Squad members who acted swiftly upon receiving information about a hijacking in Queenstown resulted in the arrest of two suspects.

According to information, it is alleged that the complainant was accosted by unknown men who pretended to be police officers and who demanded his driving license. The suspects managed to take his quantum and drove away towards the direction of Whittle Sea.

A search was conducted and the vehicle was recovered near Mthata area. Two suspects were subsequently arrested and will appear before the Queenstown Magistrate’s Court soon facing a charges of hijacking.

The Cluster Commander Major General Funeka Siganga commended the members for their vigilance and swift action resulting in the successful arrest within a short space of time.
