Allianz appoints Deon Venter as Risk Consultant
Johannesburg, August 28, 2019 – Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) Africa appointed Deon Venter as an Engineering Risk Consultant on August 1, 2019. He will report to Stephan Barnard, Head of Risk Consulting, AGCS Africa.
Deon provides loss control expertise, support and assistance to AGCS and its customers, for Civil Engineering projects in the region as well as support to Allianz Risk Consulting’s (ARC) global network. He will also be developing and maintaining professional working relationships with underwriting, market management, communications, claims, clients and brokers while maintaining and enhancing technical expertise in respective fields to support the business.
After graduation with degrees in Civil Engineering and in Structural Engineering, Deon began his postgraduate career with Group Five Civil Engineering, as a Site Engineer. He later accepted an opportunity at a consultancy firm, EDS Engineering Design Services, in Pretoria, with specific interests in planning, analysis and design aspects within the civil engineering industry.
He has a wealth of experience in the analysis and detailed design of reinforced concrete and structural steel as well as managing projects and clients. Deon will make a significant contribution to the AGCS team and in providing technical excellence and professional advice that AGCS offers to its business partners.
