Merebank business robbery gang busted in Isipingo

Police, SAPS canine members, amped Alpha Alarms members and other crime-fighters bagged a gang of suspects on Rana Road in Isipingo after they allegedly robbed a supermarket in Merebank shortly before their arrest.

Alpha Alarms responded to the Merebank business premises, an Alpha Alarms client, and it was alleged that the gang of suspects held up the business owner at gunpoint and fled with cigarettes and cash in a gold Toyota Avanza.
The owner provided descriptions of the suspects.

Alpha Alarms and SAPS patrolled the area in search of the suspects.
Shortly after reports were received of a gold Avanza spotted on Rana Road in Isipingo.
Alpha Alarms, a contingent of law enforcement officers including SAPS, SAPS K9, Metro and other security responded to the scene where police cornered the gold Avanza and arrested the driver.

The other suspects fled on foot. An extensive search was conducted and the suspects were sniffed out by the highly trained SAPS canine members.
A bag containing a Daisy gun and a knife were seized.
Police took over the scene and investigations are underway.
