Search on for missing toddler

EASTERN CAPE – A search has been launched after Avela Mavavana, aged 1 year and 10 months, who went missing from her home at Ntshamanzi Admin Area in Moyeni yesterday, 09 February 2020. The child was in the company of two other minor toddlers when she had gone missing.

According to information received, the grandmother whom the children live with, left the children in the care of a relative early yesterday morning at approximately 09:00. At approximately 12:00, when she had returned, only two of the children were at home playing and the relative was not at home. Late yesterday evening, a report was made to the police.

The search continues today with SAPS K9 Search and Rescue from East London, East London Mounted Unit, local SAPS and community members.

The community are reminded that there is no waiting period to report a missing person!
