Covid-19 #LockdownSA – Entrepreneurs Respond to Support Our Presidents Call to Action through Collaborative Movement #ECAfrica

In response to the president’s call to unite during the #21dayslockdown, Entrepreneur Connect Africa #ECAfrica, a movement of South African SMMEs and Entrepreneurs are stepping-up and stepping-in to help solve the challenges we face during this period and beyond.

A digital disruptor, #ECAfrica -Entrepreneur Connect Africa-, launched as a social media hashtag five years ago. Using digital spaces, the platform creates a movement, and ecosystem, consciously aligned, to promote and scale African Businesses.

Technology is an enabler and people are the creators, to realise a highly futuristic vision where more women enter, and succeed as economic contributors. The growth of this movement has been phenomenal, and evidence of the movement’s work was and is still evident in projects such as Bring back our girls;  Fees must fall and No to Xenophobia to mention a few.

As a network, ECAfrica is coming together to create support for distressed #SMMEs and Entrepreneurs as our skill sets traverse across all sectors and collectively we can help by using technology to solve problems through networking; job creation; skills development and at the same time building social cohesion.

“The campaign we put together is a response to appeal to South Africa for help to keep us in business by buying our services and products and re-think their buying patterns.” says Vanessa Perumal, Managing Director of JT Communication Solutions and architect of the #ECAfrica movement. She continues on to say, “Through the collective strength of our network, #ECAfrica is also creating a support structure to offer a short term, humane response to help desperate entrepreneurs with Food, Medical, and Data Vouchers.”

The #ECAfrica network is for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs, and together considers how we can create support for distressed #SMMEs and Entrepreneurs, to heed the call to action to support our country at its most vulnerable.

“Essentially we wanted to make sure we support a campaign that falls within the rules of the Governments National #LockDownSA call to action and looking at how we can offer meaningful support. We are calling for support in two ways. If you are an entrepreneur and highly vulnerable, please send your details and if you can contribute to the campaign, we would like to hear from you,” say OSHoldings CEO, Nomsa Nteleko, who is part of the #ECAfrica movement.

“With the pandemic causing a global crashing of markets and forcing businesses to rethink its operations during our #21daysofLockDownSA we intend to demonstrate product readiness to support SOE, private and public sectors with business solutions.” Says Irisha Luhanga of Redefine Human Capital ‘Over the next #21DaysLockDownSA the  #ECfricaNetwork will be sharing and also offering Business Master Classes, offering Legal Advise, Coaching, Linked in Live, Instagram, Stories, What’s app, Blogs, one-on-one session, Zoom hangouts etc.
