Theft of rims and tyres in Mountview – KZN

A resident of Katskop Drive in Mountview, Verulam discovered his vehicle on bricks after three tyres and rims were stolen this morning (Monday).

At approximately 02:20 members of Reaction Unit, South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the property after the homeowner made the discovery. On arrival, it was established that the homeowner heard a noise and upon investigation found a man interfering with this vehicle tyre.

Upon noticing the homeowner the suspect fled on foot. Three tyres and rims were already removed and were not recovered. Reaction Officers have attended to several calls in recent weeks where rims and tyres were stolen from parked vehicles.

The public is urged to be on high alert as suspects generally target vehicles during the early parts of the morning.
