Stolen Vehicle recovered at Mthatha

ELLIOT – On Tuesday, 16 June 2020 at about 11:00, a joint intelligence-driven operation by members of the SAPS Elliot K9 Unit, Mthatha K9 Unit and members of Barkly East Mounted Unit led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

Information about a stolen vehicle was received at Elliot during which the complainant tracked the location of the vehicle from his cellphone to where the vehicle was hidden at Mthatha.

The SAPS Mthatha K9 Unit members proceeded to Mthatha where the stolen vehicle was recovered and the owner positively identified his vehicle.

The investigation still continues with no arrest made at this stage.

The Elliot Cluster Commander, Colonel Matshidiso Gezani commended the multi-disciplinary approach between the two clusters that have led to the recovery of the vehicle. Colonel Gezani further appealed to the community to assist the Police with information on the suspect’s whereabouts by phoning the nearest police station or to call Crime Stop at 0860010111.
