Suspect arrested after housebreaking in Merewent
A housebreaking suspect was apprehended by Alpha Alarms for an incident which occurred on Thursday.
The owner of the house situated in Jullander Place, Merewent, supplied Alpha Alarms with CCTV footage of the incident.
This led to the successful arrest of a 30-year-old male, from Lamontville. The owner of the house confirmed the identity of the suspect.
The suspect had cuts and bruises on his hands from climbing over the walls of the home. He fitted the description given by the owner. He was found with a white wristband on his right arm, his facial structure, and shoes, also matched the description.
The suspect was taken to Wentworth SAPS where he was charged.
