Illegal health practice uncovered in Gauteng

A 30-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly running an illegal health practices with the alleged partner, who is at large. The arrest comes after the Health Professional Council received a number of complaints about an illegal practice.
Through an investigation, it was revealed the practice was operational at a building in Pretoria at corner Paul Kruger and Pretorius Streets.
On arrival at the surgery, it was found that the business is operating while not registered in the Health Professional council.
According to the experts from SAHPRA (South African Health Products and Regulatory authority) the accused have contravened the health profession act 57, 1994 for practising as a doctor while not being registered. This also includes Medicines and related substances act 101 of 1965 for being in possession of and dispensing scheduled medication.
