What is Baby Tastes?
Baby tastes has been a nutritious meal supplier for babies and young children for over 11 years. The company was started by Vanessa Crichton, a dedicated mother, wife, entrepreneur and professionally trained chef with over 21 years cooking experience.

In honour of Heritage Month, Vanessa has launched 3 new local is lekker South African inspired meals which include Bobotie, Cape Malay Curry and Lamb Potjie. Bobotie is well-known minced meat baked with an egg-based topping dish with its origins steaming from seventeenth-century Europe. It was brought to South Africa by Dutch settlers and subsequently introduced to other parts of Africa such as Zambia, Botswana and as far as the Chubut River Valley in Argentina South America.
Cape Malay cuisine is, as its name implies, a fusion of a traditional South African and Malaysian, or Eastern influences flavours. Its flavours are well-known to locals and remain a major part of our South African culture.
Potjiekos is a traditional meal consisting of meats and vegetables, spices and sauces left in the pot to slow cook over an open fire. Potjie is traditionally cooked in a round, cast iron, three-legged pot descended from the Dutch oven and brought from the Netherlands to South Africa in the 17th century. Potjie can be found in the homes and villages of people throughout southern Africa.
