Plant hire business robbed on Umdloti Beach Road near Waterloo
A plant hire business was robbed by six suspects on Umdloti Beach Road near Waterloo this afternoon (Tuesday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call at approximately 14:36 regarding the robbery. Reaction Officers were dispatched to the scene and on arrival it was established that the suspects held up two employees. The suspects were armed with pistols.
The robbers loaded a Gensec generator and an industrial rock breaker into their getaway vehicle. One of the victims was also robbed of his cellphone. The suspects then sped off in a white hatch back vehicle believed to be a Toyota Yaris. The vehicle did not have any registration plates.
Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspects however no arrests were made.
