1000 Hills Tourism CTO launches new promo video

KZN: The Valley of a 1000 Hills Community Tourism Organisation has launched their newest promotional video to once more highlight the memorable experiences that families can enjoy over this festive season and beyond.

The video shows that the beautiful hills and valleys can be magnificent to look at to soothe our collective souls, but similarly can be great to actively explore – on foot, on horseback, in a train, a 4×4, or on a bike. One can climb, walk, paddle or drive. Or enjoy the rolling hills as a backdrop for a round of golf, an alfresco meal, having a sundowner or a massage.

Speaking at the launch, the enthusiastic chairperson of the 1000 Hills CTO, Paul Paine said: “Many people know that the Valley of a 1000 Hills offers exciting options to day trippers as well as for those looking to stay a little longer. This video shows just how many different activities and options there are in the area – and it is perfect proof that the Valley of a 1000 Hills is the best holiday destination in KZN for anyone and everyone.”

Tour operator and local tour guide Shelldon Wells said: ” Summer holidays are upon us! To enjoy some family time to spoil ourselves and our loved ones, we invite you to head out to The Hills just 25 minutes west of Durban. The Valley of a 1000 Hills has been a favourite destination for so many overseas travellers passing through Durban, and I’m just thrilled that more locals will get to enjoy the romance, adventure and connecting with people on safari game drives, hiking, golfing, Zulu cultural experiences and so much more. These are all amazing trips that families can enjoy together.”

“The benefit of the 1000 Hills is that there are options to suit all requirements and all ages – from cosy romantic breaks; to a family holiday; to a group of friends on a budget or adventure seekers looking for an adrenaline rush,” he said.

“We have found in recent months that people living locally are creating a weekend’s itinerary built around particular activities. For example, a weekend can include a Saturday morning trip to the incredible Shongweni Farmers Market, a train-ride on the historic Umgeni Steam Train or joining in on a motorbike breakfast run… and there are amazing options for foodies too!” said Jane Candow, artistic performer and local bed and breakfast owner.

The Valley of a 1000 Hills is close proximity to Durban, the North and South Coasts and Pietermaritzburg / Midlands, offers high-end adventure options and gentle relaxation, both as a holiday destination or as a stopover.
