Family and domestic worker bound in a house robbery in Lotusville

A family of four and their domestic employee were bound during a robbery at their home on Thompson Avenue in Lotusville, Verulam today (Tuesday).

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 16:06 and were informed that four armed men entered the property via the driveway gate. While one suspect remained on the outside, three of his accomplices entered the residence and held up the family & their domestic employee.

The victims’ hands were bound together with cable ties before the robbers ransacked the residence in search of valuables. The suspects fled in a red Nissan Sentra with jewellery and cellphones. The victims were freed by neighbours. The suspects wore face masks to hide their identity however they are believed to be foreign nationals due to their accents.

Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the robbers however no arrests were made.
