Robbery suspect arrested after confronting homeowner with a toy gun in Overport

At approximately 11:25 on Thursday morning, dRK Tactical responded to a call for assistance on the eThekwini Secure Zello social media channel, after a male suspect armed with a firearm had confronted a homeowner in Silverpalm Road, Overport.

Armed reaction officers were immediately dispatched and a description of the suspect was obtained and distributed to all vehicles in the area.

A search of the surrounding properties and roads was conducted, with our team spotting the suspect on Crescent Street.

The suspect matched the description given by the homeowner and when handed over to the South African Police Services, a search revealed him to be in possession of a toy firearm. He was remanded into the custody of the South African Police Services.
