Attorney under investigation into fraud and corruption related to the marking (branding) of SAPS vehicles

An attorney to appear in court for money laundering and theft related to the multiple investigations

An attorney handed himself over today to the National Commissioner’s Anti- Corruption Task Team for his alleged involvement in the massive investigation into fraud and corruption related to the marking (branding) of SAPS vehicles, procurement of handcuffs & leg irons, outsourcing of vehicles from the SAPS garages, procurement of stationery, renovation of buildings, etc.

These investigations began in September 2018 which saw the arrest of 71 accused to date which included very high ranking police officers, business men and women. Almost every one of the SAPS employees has since been dismissed from the SAPS following their alleged involvement in these cases.

The arrest of the attorney, 32-year-old Reshay Ramsamy Naidoo of Centurion, brings the total to 72 the number of accused that have been arrested thus far. Naidoo is alleged to have received over R900 000 from one of the accused on the day the said accused was being arrested. Naidoo is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrates court tomorrow for a formal bail application.

More arrests in connection with these cases cannot be ruled out at this stage.
