Housebreaking suspects caught in the act

On Saturday, 26 June 2021, at 23:30, an off-duty police officer from Ekuvukeni SAPS attended to a business burglary in progress at a shop in Nazareth at Ekuvukeni.

On arrival the police officer found a group of men on scene and he called for backup.

Unfortunately three of the suspects managed to escape whilst two were still inside the shop. Upon closer observation, it was discovered that entry was gained through the roof as doors and windows were still locked.

Two suspects aged 17 and 18 were arrested inside the store. They were found in possession of stolen goods.

The object that is suspected to have been used to remove the roof sheets was also found at the scene.

A case was opened for housebreaking at a business premises at the Ekuvukeni police station for further investigation.

The suspects will appear before Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 29 June 2021 facing burglary charges.
