New MD appointed to lead Elite Risk

Tarina Vlok has been named the new Managing Director (MD) of Elite Risk Acceptances – a division of Old Mutual Insure, the business announced today.

As co-founder of Elite, Vlok worked closely with the previous MD, Christelle Colman, to launch Elite in 2018 and to build the business into the exciting brand it is today. Colman resigned in October to pursue personal interests.

“Elite has experienced phenomenal growth over the last three years and is a valuable contributor to the bigger Old Mutual Insure business. Appointing Tarina gives us the opportunity to ensure continuity in the Elite business, whilst driving profitable growth,” said Soul Abraham, an executive for Retail at OM Insure.

Vlok, who was previously in the position of General Manager at Elite Risk, says she is looking forward to “getting stuck” into her new role.

“Elite Risk has quickly become known as an innovative, forward-thinking start-up under the OM Insure brand. I am now looking forward to hitting the ground running and building on this legacy,” she said.

Vlok has a wealth of industry experience spanning over 20 years. During her career thus far, she has built strong relationships with brokers and maintains their support through regular interaction and engagements.

“The Elite team shares Tarina’s passion for service delivery and they are looking forward to continuing to delight our brokers with excellent service,” said Abraham.

The business has added a dedicated Elite claims team to complement and expand the existing Elite quoting, sales, and valuations teams, in its effort to support the high-net-worth insurer’s growth trajectory as well as its growing customer base.

“I wish Tarina all the best and look forward to seeing Elite moving to greater heights,” said Abraham.

Vlok has three children and recently became a grandmother. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.
