City of Ekurhuleni installs smoke detectors to prevent fire disasters
Installation of smoke detectors continued today and MMC for Community Safety Cllr Khathutshelo Rasilingwane is seen here with Aaron Mafunda from #CoE Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) installing one in a home in an informal settlement in Primrose.
The smoke detectors sound a warning that alerts of the possibility of a fire. This will go a long way to avoiding fire disasters.
This is a pilot project where the City has partnered with the provincial fire services and Santam.
