Suspects to appear in court following their arrest in separate incidents for possession of presumed stolen property and possession of drugs

An integrated intelligence-driven operation conducted in NY108, Gugulethu earlier today between the K9 Unit, Maitland Flying Squad, and Crime Intelligence, led to the arrests of four men and a woman between the ages of 33 and 46. These arrests were in connection with a business robbery that was perpetrated in Cape Town earlier where electronic equipment was taken. The premises were searched and the members confiscated electronic equipment to the value of one million rand. The suspects face a charge of possession of the presumed stolen property.

Once charged the suspects will appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on the mentioned charge.

In an unrelated matter, members of Bredasdorp police arrested two female suspects aged 19 and 40 for the possession of drugs in Windmeul Street, Bredasdorp yesterday, Thursday, 13 April 2023. The members executed a search warrant at the premises and confiscated 346 mandrax tablets and four medium-sized packets containing crystal meth with an estimated street value of R17 300. The suspects will make their court appearance in the Bredasdorp Magistrate’s Court today.

Furthermore, members of Operation Restore searched premises in Jeanne Crescent, Woodbridge, Mitchell’s Plain on Thursday evening and confiscated 181 packets of dagga, 237 dagga cigarettes, a speed point machine, 27 butane gas, a black container with compressed dagga, and an undisclosed amount of cash. A 31-year-old man was arrested and detained on a charge of possession of dagga.

Once charged the suspect will appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court.
