Goodyear Tyres in action at the Simola Hill Climb

With the highly anticipated Simola Hill Climb, starting in Knysna today, Goodyear’s ultra ultra high-performance tyres are the chosen tyre of choice by two prominent teams that will be taking to the Hill this weekend.

“Goodyear South Africa is once again extremely proud to be partnering with Volkswagen Motorsport and Shelby teams at the 13th edition of the Knysna Simola Hill Climb. The racetrack-inspired Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport is definitely the perfect tyre choice for the drivers and their cars as they tackle the technically challenging Simola Hill Climb track. Driver, car and tyres must all act as one to ensure that they have the best chance to beat their competition and the clock. Here’s wishing all participants good luck for the event,” says Shane Petersen, Goodyear South Africa Consumer PBU Director.

Goodyear’s flagship performance tyres, the SuperSport range, deploy innovative technologies and compounds that enable significant improvements to braking distances and lap times without neglecting more intangible elements of the driving experience, such as feedback during turn-in, under braking and approaching breakaway.

Goodyear tyres are fitted to Team Shelby’s Supersnakes and the rare Shelby Terlingua, piloted by avid race driver, Paige Lindenberg. The recently launched Volkswagen Golf 8 R, of which there will be three vehicles, are also Goodyear fitted and their driver lineup includes Daniel Rowe, Jonathan Mogotsi and international wildcard entry, Henning Solberg.

Goodyear’s Eagle F1 Supersport tyres are available across several rim sizes, ranging from 18 to 21 inches and are available countrywide from leading tyre retailers.
