Suspect arrested for theft of a large amount of fencing

Thief nabbed in the Lorraine area thanks to teamwork between vigilant community member and Fidelity ADT! We received information from a community member who reported two males walking near our customer’s premises.

Our response officer responded and made contact with a guard who was also stationed in Circular drive.. He checked our customer’s premises and found all in order but found a large amount of fencing missing from an empty lot behind our customer’s premises.

Our officer put two and two together and contacted the community member who was monitoring a male moving into the Lorraine area and confronted the suspect. SAPS was contacted and the suspect and scene were handed over for further investigation. Well done to the vigilant community member for his fast action to report and monitor!
