Business fire in Phoenix

Fire Firefighters battled for nearly six hours to extinguish a fire at a business complex in Phoenix – KZN.

A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was on patrol in the business complex when he noticed smoke billowing out of one of the units. The Officer reported his discovery to the RUSA Phoenix Operations Centre.

Additional Reaction Officers and the Ethekwini Fire Department were immediately dispatched. On arrival, it was established that the blaze was being fuelled by off cut fabric that was stored inside the unit.

Firemen battle the inferno for nearly six hours before other tenants were allowed to enter the property.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed.
