Poachers and diesel thieves nabbed in Blackburn

Three men poaching on a farm in Blackburn – KZN were apprehended while stealing diesel from an excavator during their hunting expedition during the early parts of this morning.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from the farmer requesting assistance. On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered that three suspects were apprehended by the farmer and his employees while they were in the process of loading the stolen fuel into a blue Mitsubishi Pajero.

A licensed hunting rifle, two pistols, ammunition and a bloodied hunting knife were recovered in their possession. According to the farmer, the suspects confirmed that they regularly poach in the surrounding cane fields. One of the accused is a Paramedic.

The suspects were released after waiting three and a half hours for Police to attend.
