Stolen vehicle recovered in Newlands

Stolen vehicle recovered in Newlands, and suspects arrested! On Saturday a message was received from a WhatsApp group regarding a silver Jaguar that was reported stolen.

It was seen parked off on Veldcastle Drive. Our armed response officer was dispatched to the area. Our SIU team also responded and arrived at the scene within minutes. The vehicle registration check was conducted, and the vehicle came up as a positive case. SAPS was contacted and arrived on the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was questioned, and he stated there was an issue with the plates and that he had been driving the vehicle for three months. Thereafter, the driver quickly changed his story as soon as the SAPS members began interrogating him. The owner of the vehicle was called and arrived on the scene.

The suspects were taken to Newlands East police station for further investigation. Well done to all involved!
