Mi7 Christmas Day Starts with Arrest of Five Armed Robbers

As midnight ushered in Christmas Day 2023, Mi7 Strategic Threat Response Unit teams on patrol in Pietermaritzburg’s CBD were flagged down by a man who reported being robbed at gunpoint by five suspects.

The suspects allegedly stole the man’s phone and had just escaped in a car. Mi7 teams immediately gave chase, coordinating with backup units to strategically corner the suspects. The vehicle was cornered and brought to a halt. All five suspects were detained until the police arrived.

Upon a thorough search of the vehicle, police found a firearm, a knife, and the stolen cellphone. The matter was handed over to the police for further investigation.
