Business gutted in a fire in Missionlands

A furniture manufacturing company was extensively damaged and a Foreign national sustained burns to his body during a fire on Apollo Road in Missionlands – KZN last night.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 23:44 and discovered the premises engulfed in flames. Reaction Officers established that the premises was utilised to manufacture furniture. A Malawian national who is an employee at the business was injured.

Firefighters arrived shortly thereafter and battled the blaze for several hours. The injured male was stabilised on scene by Paramedics from a private ambulance service before being transported to hospital by ambulance.

Circumstances leading up to the incident were not immediately known.
