Not all heroes wear capes

As our community reels from the devastating accident that occurred yesterday when a building collapsed in George.

We would like to acknowledge and thank the heroes working tirelessly to save the lives of those involved.

From the firefighters and rescue workers to the medics and disaster management teams, as well as the Gift of the Givers who have arrived with their highly trained sniffer dogs, doing the vital work of identifying where the trapped and injured are.

These incredible dogs will contribute to saving many lives over the next few days and we, Garden Route SPCA, salute them and their handlers as they search for those still trapped under the rubble.

To each and every one of these heroes, we thank you and pray for your safety.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those whose lives hang in the balance and all who are affected by this tragedy.
